Lil' Punkin

Here's our little pumpkin!

Playing in the Yard

Lance & the kids had some fun times outside enjoying the beautiful fall foliage. Aren't the leaves beautiful? And didn't Lance do a fabulous job on the yard?

Spider Man!

So, it turns out that the sipder in our yard (see the last blog) was genetically engineered. Alex got bit and now he's climbing the walls-FOR REAL. Watch out Green Goblin, evil do-ers, and Jenny!

Spider!

This big girl I found in our yard a few weeks ago while I was mowing. It is the biggest, hefty-est spider I have ever seen in NC. It gave me the creeps, but I couldn't kill it (I thought it's family might come and avenge it's death, or that I might try and it would jump me...). Anyway, enjoy the pic.

Should'a posted this earlier...

This cool pic was taken back when Ryan and Tracy were here visiting. This is on the top of a mountian north of us. (Click on it for a bigger pic). Beautiful up here, ain't it?

The boys

Here is a recent pic of Alex and Daniel. Enjoy!

Just so everyone knows, I am applying for a doctoral program at BYU. If everything goes well, we will be moving back to Utah next summer. Yeeeehaaaawww!

More beauty

These shots are from just down the road from our house, by the Christmas tree farm, less than a mile away. One is slightly enhanced so you get the feel of the day, the other is as-is. Enjoy, and come visit!

Carolina Sunset

This photo was taken just down the road from our house, less than a mile away, off of our road. We live in a beautiful area.

Jenny's First Day at School

Jenny started school on the 10th. Here she is on her first day!

Look who came to visit!

Ruth and Nate came to visit us on the 13th. It was great to meet Nate and to see cousin Ruth again. No, they don't have a baby, that is Daniel...

He smiles!

Oh Deer!

Sometimes it feels like we are the ones in the cage that all the animals come to look at (like the birds, racoons, and yes, even deer.) If you look closely, that is a deer peeking in our window behind the blinds.

Creepy

This little guy was crawling on our door. I've never seen a spider with a face on it's back like this. yeuhhaebllhuehhgggughh (sounds of being creeped out).

Remember Glow Worms...?

Our little guy accidentally ate some radioactive waste...No, he has jaundice and the doctor proscribed a BiliBlanket (a light machine with a fiber-optic-weave mat that goes on the baby's body). The top pic was taken with the camera shutter open for a full second, so it is not that bright in real life. The bottom pic shows about how bright it looks in a dimly lit room. Needless to say, we don't need a night-light right now. He shouldn't have to wear this thing much longer, and otherwise he is very healthy.

It's a Boy!!

We have a new Baby dome! He was born at 12:12pm today. He weighs 8 lbs 2 oz and is 21 inches long. We are thinking he will be called Daniel Shephard Dome, but we are still debating. I have to run back to the hospital (Shiree has to stay 48 hours) and then we will all come home and I will post some pics.

Tweetsie is Open again!!

The addiction is back! Please send gas money.

Alex is 3!

We celebrated Alex's birthday over 3 days. Sorry to all you losers who were too lame to make it. We had swingin' friends over (to swing), did Tweetsie Railroad for their opening day, had Grandma Melanie over for a cook-out, and lots more fun. Here are some pics of Alex as a Big 3-year-old!

P.S.- Thanks for all the presents, phone calls, etc. Even to you losers.

"I'm missing a piece of my clothes!"

Alex came into the room and said to Shiree, "I'm missing a piece of my clothes." "Really?" Shiree relpied with mock surprise. "Pants" he replied matter-of-factly. Who knew?

Jenny's Ballet

Jenny danced in the Princess Gala on the 29th of April. She was a pixie in the Snow White act. This is her with her friend Erin (check out the socks in the yellow pic!). She is a great dancer and really loves performing.

Indigo Bunting?

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is? The big pic with a copyright in the lower right is one I got off of the net of an Indigo Bunting; it is the closest I could get to a match. The ones we are seeing here look like blue finches (no such thing). Let me know...

GRASS!!

Yup, we have grass growing in our yard. These pictures are decieving, it is still patchy and thin, but a great beginning (and the photo's give an idea of what it will look like when it had all grown in!) The swing set will be moved into the yard once the grass is growing strong. If you look up close at the one zoomed picture of the side of our yard you can see some of my rock borders I have made to deliniate yard and "natural habitat" yard. Things are coming along well, y'all need to come over'n see it, ya hear!

Squirly

I couldn't resist this pic. This squirl was out on our porch enjoying the spring weather and a pile of sunflower seeds. Man, this is the life...

Painful Internet

Sorry about our lack of posts this year. Since our move, our internet here is Painfully slow!!! Until we get DSL (which I -Lance- am hoping to get soon), it may that our posts will be few and far between. We are doing well, all things considered. Shiree's mother has cancer, a fact that has shocked us all. Shiree is due in may with our next baby boy. I am working two jobs and rolling in gobs of money... We love our new home. We will post some pics soon. We have a driveway and gutters now. We have about 50 blades of greass growing in our yard. Shiree is an amazing, beautiful woman that I am so blessed to have in my life, who just turned 30. More to come...
