It's a Boy!!

We have a new Baby dome! He was born at 12:12pm today. He weighs 8 lbs 2 oz and is 21 inches long. We are thinking he will be called Daniel Shephard Dome, but we are still debating. I have to run back to the hospital (Shiree has to stay 48 hours) and then we will all come home and I will post some pics.

Alex is 3!

We celebrated Alex's birthday over 3 days. Sorry to all you losers who were too lame to make it. We had swingin' friends over (to swing), did Tweetsie Railroad for their opening day, had Grandma Melanie over for a cook-out, and lots more fun. Here are some pics of Alex as a Big 3-year-old!

Alex came into the room and said to Shiree, "I'm missing a piece of my clothes." "Really?" Shiree relpied with mock surprise. "Pants" he replied matter-of-factly. Who knew?

Jenny's Ballet

Jenny danced in the Princess Gala on the 29th of April. She was a pixie in the Snow White act. This is her with her friend Erin (check out the socks in the yellow pic!). She is a great dancer and really loves performing.

Indigo Bunting?

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is? The big pic with a copyright in the lower right is one I got off of the net of an Indigo Bunting; it is the closest I could get to a match. The ones we are seeing here look like blue finches (no such thing). Let me know...

GRASS!!

Yup, we have grass growing in our yard. These pictures are decieving, it is still patchy and thin, but a great beginning (and the photo's give an idea of what it will look like when it had all grown in!) The swing set will be moved into the yard once the grass is growing strong. If you look up close at the one zoomed picture of the side of our yard you can see some of my rock borders I have made to deliniate yard and "natural habitat" yard. Things are coming along well, y'all need to come over'n see it, ya hear!

I couldn't resist this pic. This squirl was out on our porch enjoying the spring weather and a pile of sunflower seeds. Man, this is the life...

Painful Internet

Sorry about our lack of posts this year. Since our move, our internet here is Painfully slow!!! Until we get DSL (which I -Lance- am hoping to get soon), it may that our posts will be few and far between. We are doing well, all things considered. Shiree's mother has cancer, a fact that has shocked us all. Shiree is due in may with our next baby boy. I am working two jobs and rolling in gobs of money... We love our new home. We will post some pics soon. We have a driveway and gutters now. We have about 50 blades of greass growing in our yard. Shiree is an amazing, beautiful woman that I am so blessed to have in my life, who just turned 30. More to come...

Victory over boxes...

We have lots of bird friends here, but haven't been able to put up the feeder yet. A little ice (no, none of that is snow, just ice...) and our deck work fine though. Look close and you'll see seven birds on the deck.

We got a tree (thanks Mimi and my folks).

It's a boy! Today Shiree had an ultrasound, and here he is! The due date is May 18th.

Computer at new house, no phones...

We have taken the computer over to our new house, and have no phone line yet, so I am posting this from work. Don't try to call our home phone, it is no more. We got power yesterday, and the propane tank set. Today we should get it filled and hooked up. We move tomorrow morning! We should have a phone out there by monday ( I hope). Call our cell if you need us.

Amazing!

Got this off of the weather channel today. This has been an unbelievable storm year! And this doesn't mention the earthquakes! Read on:

Tropical Storm Epsilon, the 26th named storm of this remarkable hurricane season, has been christened in the Atlantic Ocean about 845 miles east of Bermuda. Epsilon is churning westward and may gradually increase in strength. It is, however, expected to shift to an ENE track after about 36 hours, thus sparing Bermuda any effects. The storm likely will become extratropical by this weekend as it continues its journey over the open waters of the eastern Atlantic.

The amazing 2005 Atlantic hurricane season has shattered many long-standing records, chief among them a record number of named storms, twenty-six, which has obliterated the previous record of twenty-one in 1933. There also have been 13 hurricanes so far this season breaking the old record of 12 set in 1969. Another record set was for the most category-five hurricanes, three, with Katrina, Rita and Wilma. Wilma became the strongest hurricane on record in the Atlantic Basin with a pressure of 882 mb breaking the old record set by Gilbert (888 mb) in 1988. Katrina likely will be the costliest U.S. hurricane on record. Also, the final seasonal tally for damage will be the greatest in U.S. history, breaking the previous record set just last year. The landfall of four major hurricanes in the U.S. also set a record.

Here is the house right before I left today. You can see the door we put up today on the crawlspace, our air conditioning unit, our smooth yard, and the new deck.

The guy came by and smoothed out our yard today and I spread some grass seed. If you look close, you can see our house number (1545).

Here is our house as seen from the far corner by the road. That's going to be a lot of grass to mow next year! Notice the deck and if you look closely, our new door to the basement/crawlspace.
